Due to COVID-19, The Student of the Year Ceremony scheduled for Friday, September 13, 2020 has been canceled. Winners will be notified by mail.
HB 19-1330 Exempt Hair Drying Services from DORA Regulation
HB 19-1330 “Exempt Hair Drying Services from DORA Regulation” was defeated. The bill, if passed, would have exempted a person performing only hair drying services from licensure by the Department of Regulatory Affairs (DORA).
SB 19-002 Regulate Student Education Loan Services
SB 19-002 “Regulate Student Education Loan Services” passed at the end of the legislative session. The bill requires student loan servicers to obtain a license and establishes an ombudsperson. The ombudsperson will be in higher education, review complaints and ensure that loan servicers are licensed under the Uniform Commercial Code (UCC), which is under the AG’s office.
